The echoecho story

Echoecho is the simple location-based mobile application for finding friends in the real world. In just two clicks you can find your friend's current location, while sharing yours.

You're in control of what you share, when you share it, and with whom you share it. People are using echoecho to help find a friend whether they're in the same restaurant, out shopping or even in a different country. The service works anywhere in the world across multiple platforms including Android, iPhone, Blackberry, and Nokia. An echoecho API is available to developers.

Like many of the world's best products, echoecho was born from personal experience and frustration - try picking someone up at LAX just knowing they're "at the airport." In the 21st century, smartphones with us at all times, it didn't make sense to waste time looking for friends. So we picked apart what we really wanted and what phones are good and bad at, we designed the first version of echoecho. We've been improving it based on comments and insights from real users ever since.

As a team, we're dedicated to making products that help people address real problems in the real world. And as far as we can tell, the world isn't running out of those any time soon. Simple, practical, usable and purposeful are the mantras that guide what goes on around here.

Echoecho is backed by Google Ventures, PROfounders Capital and a select group of angel investors.

Nick mixes left brain and right brain stuff on an ongoing basis. Charming if desired - rude and cutting if required - Nick is equally at home on an MMA fighting mat, a unix command prompt, a mast-high crushing north swell, behind the controls of a helicopter, convincing a board about strategic changes of direction, field-stripping a SIG 552 Commando blind-folded or inventing new paradigms in mobile phone user interface design.

Arben Kryeziu — Senior VP Engineering

Arben's first company was a pan-european travel agency that handled logistics, transportation and accomodation for tens of thousands of guests each tourist season. He wrote all the front-end, back-end and middleware. He was 15 years old. Since then he has been involved in numerous startups but still finds time to lead a charmed family life in the paradise that is Maui - punctuated by epic kite-surfing sessions on the Outer breaks at Sprecklesville. He makes sure echoecho is as cutting edge as can be - and won't fall over under heavy usage - no matter how popular the service becomes.
